Tourism Council Western Australia is responsible for the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program in WA. This program is designed to establish and continually improve industry standards for conducting a tourism business.Accreditation provides consumers, and the industry, with an assurance that businesses are committed to professionalism both in operations and delivery of service.
Tourism businesses undertaking the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program (WA) complete a desktop audit which covers business practises, procedures, insurances and other documentation required for the successful operation of a safe, reliable and progressive tourism business.
Those successfully completing the program are awarded the coveted “tick” of approval recognised both nationally and internationally as a quality seal of approval.
Tourism Council WA is an independent organisation governed by members from within Western Australia. As a result, Tourism Council truly reflects the views of the industry and the consumer at all levels across the state.

The Blackall Range
The Blackall Range Business and Tourism Association consists of business houses and tourism operators from all over the Blackall Range, from Landsborough, Mooloolah and Palmwoods out to Kenilworth and all areas in-between, encompassing Mapleton, Flaxton, Montville, Maleny, Reesville, Witta and Connondale.
The BRBTA is an Incorporated Body, which operates under a set of Model Rules.
Some of its key objectives are:
* Promotion of the Blackall Range as a tourism destination
* Caring for the public interest of the Blackall Range
* Formulation of policy on matters pertaining to the Blackall Range
* Liaison and working with other Tourism Associations, Chambers of Commerce and Local Councils
Hotel Motel and Accommodation Association of Australia
The Hotel Motel & Accommodation Association is the peak body for the Australian accommodation industry. It is a specialist organisation working for employers in the accommodation industry.
HMAA represents a range of accommodation establishments including 5 Star Hotels, Resorts, Motels, Motor Inns, Bed & Breakfasts, Boarding Houses, Backpackers and Time Share Establishments in metropolitan and regional Australia adding up to a membership base of over1500 properties and some 60,000 guest rooms. HMAA offers a range of services and opportunities which will assist accommodation properties and corporate businesses in their day-to-day activities.
The Association was formed to represent the interests of registered accommodation operators within the Tourism and Hospitality Industry and is registered as an Industrial Organisation of Employers.

Tourism Futures
Tourism Australia, Tourism Queensland, Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation and Gold Coast Tourism have staged the seventh National Conference on Tourism Futures from 17-19 August 2009 at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, the Gold Coast.
The Conference took a forward perspective on the industry, looking out over a ten year timeframe and examining opportunities and issues for the future.
